Meet Taylor Morse

Let me get you up to speed about me. I’m running for city council. The first time I voted was in 2004 right here in Oak Grove. There were something like 8 candidates running for 2 positions. Now in 2026, I have come to learn that there were only 2 people running for 2 positions in city council and one person running for Mayor. Doesn’t feel a lot like democracy to me. This is America, our politicians need to compete for our votes.

I am an Electrical Engineer specializing in medical devices. When you deal with devices that keep people alive or diagnose diseases or destroy just the right amount of tissue you are legally required to abide by highly specific technical standards in purchasing, measuring, designing, manufacturing, testing and prove that you did it with extensive documentation backed up with cold hard numbers that were generated through the correct statistical process to accurately assess the thing at issue. But you can’t just sit around, naval gaze and overanalyze, patients need these device and you can’t be caught up in red tape. High professional standards are very important.

We have a lot of big decisions to make in the upcoming years. Do we want a full time fire chief? Do we want to participate in Anoka county’s flock system (I am extremely skeptical here)? How do we address dangerous intersections? How long is too long to wait on that CR9/22 light during rush hour? These are the standards I will take to make sure that your safety and your dollar are responsibly respected.

That’s the standard I’m going to hold to anyone who goes after your money or safety or privacy. But when you come to the city council asking for permission for something to do on the land you own I’m going to try my darndest to make sure you get what you want with the awareness of what you do effects others.
